കേന്ദ്ര ആണവോർജ്ജ വകുപ്പിന്റെ കീഴിൽ ദേശീയ തലത്തിൽ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നമനത്തിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന നാഷണൽ ബോർഡ് ഫോർ ഹയർ മാത്തമാറ്റിക്സിന്റെ (NBHM) സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായത്തോടെ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്ര ബിരുദ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കായി 7 ദിവസം നീളുന്ന ശില്പശാല കായംകുളം എം എസ് എം കോളേജിൽ വെച്ച് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ പ്രമുഖ കലാലയമായ എം എസ് എം കോളേജിലെ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്ര വിഭാഗവും ഭാരതത്തിലെ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രപഠനഗവേഷണത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നമനത്തിനായി രൂപവത്കരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എം.റ്റി.റ്റി.എസ്. (MTTS) ട്രസ്റ്റും ചേർന്ന് സംയുക്തമായാണ് ശില്പശാല നടത്തുന്നത്. 2018 ഡിസംബർ 19 മുതൽ 24 വരെ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ പരിപാടിയിൽ കേരളം, ഗോവ, തമിഴ്നാട് തുടങ്ങിയ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും എത്തുന്ന പ്രമുഖ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞ പ്രൊഫസർമാർ ക്ലാസുകൾ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യയിലെ വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുമായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട 50 വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളാണ് ഈ ശില്പശാലയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നത്. കേരളം, കർണാടക, തമിഴ്നാട്, ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശ്, തെലങ്കാന, മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര, ഉത്തർപ്രദേശ് എന്നീ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ എതാണ്ട് 100നു മുകളിൽ എണ്ണം സ്ഥാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുമായി ലഭിച്ച 300നു മുകളിൽ വരുന്ന സമർത്ഥരായ ഗണിതശാസ്ത്ര വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് 50 വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ തിരെഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.
